Meet the Merrymakers

The Merrymakers are a group of neighbors and change-makers living in the historic district (HiDi) in downtown Manchester. The idea for a community block party first came about over a bottle of wine during COVID lockdowns. That idea quickly blossomed into action, and we secured a community grant to host the event in 2023.

We all have different backgrounds, but share many common threads - including a passion for community engagement. We aim to use this event and the several others we plan throughout the year to get to know our neighbors and local business owners. Our overall goal is to celebrate the history of the HiDi and maintain its unique charm.

Amy

Amy has lived in the HiDi since 2020. You can find her pretty much everywhere around Manchester, through her work in real estate and the Manchester Development Corp.

Dana & Peter

Dana & Peter have lived in the HiDi since 2019, and are widely considered the life of the party. Catch them hosting many events on their perfectly maintained lawn while spoiling their princess pup, Topaz.

Theresa

Maybe the happiest person you’ll ever meet, Theresa is our very own ray of sunshine - and a fundraising champion! You’ve probably seen her running in every Millennium Running race in town or taking her pup, Stella, for a walk around town.

Kathleen

A resident of the HiDi since 2020, Kathleen is the self appointed step mother (and favorite person?) of Topaz. When she’s not keeping us all in line, she’s jetting down the the Cape for some well deserved R&R (she did raise 4 kids, you know).

Mikayla & Nick

Mikayla & Nick were the new kids on the block, only living in the HiDi a few months before we recruited them for Merrymaking! Catch them exploring the great outdoors, or walking around the neighborhood with their pup and new baby boy.

Alyson & Nick

Alyson & Nick have lived in the HiDi since 2016. When Alyson is not single-handedly keeping us all organized, you can usually catch them maintaining their impressive urban garden on W. Merrimack, featuring fresh blueberries and figs!

Molly

Molly has lived in the HiDi since 2018, and is definitely mainly recognized for her dog, Oscar. Better known as the Mayor of Downtown, Oscar keeps Moly busy taking her on walks to all the stores in town that keep treats on hand.
